Case Study: How not to change your website (or how to lose your ranking fast)
I am presenting this very website, www.lookseeinfo.com, as a study in what not to do with a website. You may have noticed that our business focus has shifted from primarily research-based to primarily online marketing/optimization based.
You may also notice that the online optimization information is difficult to find or, in some cases, completely non-existent.
This is because I did not follow a coherent plan to update the website as service offerings changed. I thought I did not have to follow my own advice. I thought I could just wing it. After all, I know my business so I should be able to make changes on the fly.
Well, the end result is that the LookSee Information Solutions website is now not optimized for anything. Not research. Not website optimization. Not online marketing. Nothing. I made a very poor business decision, and I am admitting it here, to you, my potential customer, so that you can see just how easy it is to make a mess if you don’t have a plan.
I am now starting from scratch, developing a plan for a brand new website.
